West Wickham Allotments are delighted to be associated with a wide range of amazing individuals and organisations who help to support our community and inform the way in which manage the site from an environmental perspective. From the guidance on biodiversity offered by the Kent Wildlife Trust, to the tree surgeons who deliver the woodchip that acts as a natural weed suppressant on our plots, we are happy to share their links should you want to find out more or contact them directly
Our chosen charity partner is St. Christopher’s Hospice, and we are proud to raise funds for them each year through a variety of initiatives. As well as a collection box in The Trading Shed, these include the money generated by plant sales, together with our annual Open Day, to which we invite the local community to buy our produce and enjoy refreshments and homemade cakes. We also hold an annual Christmas raffle, that last year raised over £200.00 for this incredibly important organisation, funded wholly by charitable donations.
